SUSAN FINLAY... _______________________________________________
... writes poetry and fiction. Her latest novel, The Jacques Lacan Foundation, received glowing reviews in UK magazines Prospect, Tribune, and WORMS, and was a White Review Book of the Year. You can also read about her just-published memoir (which could also be fiction), The Lives of the Artists, in Berlin Art Link, Crack Magazine, The Arts Desk, and The Irish Times. Plus there's a very nice article on the books that influenced it in Frieze.
Prior to this, she produced several poetry pamphlets and three other experimentalish novels. Recent work has appeared in POETRY, the Los Angeles Review of Books, the TLS, and The Stinging Fly. Residencies include the Freud Museum in London, UK, Unlisted in Austin, US, Callie's in Berlin, Germany, and RUPERT in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Susan originally studied fine art, and although she no longer exhibits her paintings on a regular basis, she still paints regularly. An archive of her artworks can be accessed here. When not writing or painting she has many different day jobs the most glamorous and least profitable of which is programming cultural events. Contact: beyondsusan[at]hotmail.com
