Susan's latest novel, The Jacques Lacan Foundation, received glowing reviews in Prospect, Tribune, and WORMS. It was a White Review Book of the Year and many UK bookstore and art galleries' Recommended Read. Her latest writing project, an (anti-)memoir entitled The Lives of the Artists, also received great coverage in Berlin Art Link, Crack Magazine, The Arts Desk, The Glasgow Review of Books, Impulse, and The Irish Times. Plus there's a very nice article on the books that influenced it in Frieze.  Prior to this, she produced three other experimental-ish novels, namely My Other Spruce & Maple Self, Objektophilia, and Arriviste.

Susan's poems and short stories have been featured in
publications including POETRY, the Los Angeles Review of Books, The Toe Rag, and The Stinging Fly. She has written cultural criticism for magazines like Tate Etc., the Times Literary Supplement, Spike, A Rabbit's Foot, and Motor Dance Journal, and essays for artist books by Zoe Williams, MV Brown, Lucy McKenzie, and Reba Maybury among others.

Curatorial projects include the exhibition Inland Far at the Herbert Read Gallery, the performance, The Annual General Meeting for Artefact Projects, and a series of literary programmes for a.p. She has taught at art and design institutions in both  Europe and the UK (an archive of her artworks can be accessed here). Recent residencies include Callie's and RUPERT.

In 2018, Susan and her father founded independent press MOIST, which Susan co-ran until the end of May 2025. Since January 2025 she has been one of three co-editors at JOAN.
